DescriptionStudents will explore the nature of tourists, tourism, and the tourism industry, and the complex economic, social, cultural, and environmental impacts and interactions of tourism activity. They will discover direct and indirectly impacts on people’s lives and the environment, the importance of sustainable management, the ever-changing nature of tourism and how it responds to challenges, opportunities, and realities such as globalisation, economic crises, security issues, environmental needs, world events, and technological developments. Students explore tourism as a business and its impact on the economy, identify and investigate tourism trends, developments, or contemporary issues and apply their understandings to form personal opinions, make informed recommendations, form reasoned conclusions, and predict future options.
