DescriptionLearning a language expands students’ prospects in relation to developing their personal, social, cultural and employment opportunities.

Our Japanese programme expands students’ capability to communicate and develop intercultural understandings that will enable them to develop as global citizens.

Through languages, students develop vital cognitive skills in problem solving, critical thinking, memorising, concentration and mental flexibility.
Subject OutcomesStudents have discovered Japan, now they will explore Japan. Students in this course know the basics, now it is time for them to develop skills in becoming masters of Japanese. Students will explore Japan around the themes of themselves as an individual, the changing world and Japanese speaking communities. Students will journey through various tasks that will enable them to explore Japan in depth. Beginning with developing skills and confidence in conversational Japanese, creating texts and text analysis. These skills work towards building student comprehension and confidence in conducting research in Japanese by themselves.
