In this course we explore Ancient Civilisations such as those in Greece, Egypt and China, in order to make connections between the modern world. Students will explore how our societies are shaped by the past. Tasks could include solving ancient mysteries by using modern technologies or students could develop an inquiry question to research as a historian, an area of personal interest.
Subject OutcomesStudents will gain an understanding of archaeological techniques and methodology to reconstruct the past.
Students as Historians use multiple sources to make credible theories relying on both literary and archaeological evidence to support their ideas.
Tasks could also include: creating a virtual tour of an extensive ancient site using Google-Earth fly-by or participating in a simulated dig to develop an awareness of issues surrounding archaeology.
