DescriptionA lot has happened since 1750. There have been upheavals, new technology and new ideas. This course looks at the modern world through young adult eyes – exploring advertising, blogs, social media, interviews, and statistics. You will interpret a range of sources, explore key people and events, interpret a range of sources and draw conclusions to understand key social movements including: LGBTQI, worker’s rights, and gender issues.

This course has a range of topics, and can be adapted to suit the individual cohort of students. It is perfect for students who have a keen interest in discovering how the history we are creating today will impact on our future.
Subject OutcomesStudents completing this course will feel confident understanding the world we live in today, the influences on young people and will have the skills to look at issues critically and creatively.
AssessmentStudents will complete three historical skills assessment tasks such as sources analysis or multimodal presentation.

Students will also need to complete an Historical study based on a topic of their own choice.
